Take care of yourself &mdash 24/7
We are living in the modern world. We love our cell phones, our e-mail accounts, our instant
access to news and information — our ability to be in touch 24/7. But this modern world also
is a complicated one. Instant access has blurred the lines between work and home. Our friends
and family expect that they can reach out to us at any time — and get an immediate answer.
Bottom line, we often have little control over the pace of our days. Add in the nation's financial woes, and life is a constant juggling act as we wonder how to get it all done — and whether we'll have the means to take care of life's responsibilities and accomplish our dreams.
When we have too much on our to-do lists, what often ends up getting neglected is our health. We don't sleep enough. We don't eat right. We drop our exercise routines. We may skip our regular visits to the doctor.
We hope this magazine encourages you to do just the opposite. The theme of this issue is, "Work, home, play — health tips for everyday life." So whether you need a reminder about why stress is so hard on your body, want to learn more about managing your health care dollars or are hoping to find a new place for your daily walks, there's some advice for you inside these pages.
After all, when the going gets tough, it's even more important to find balance in our lives. And that starts by taking care of ourselves — every day, all year long.
